In order to strengthen and capacity building, the departmental engineers are regularly trained in batches in renowned institutes/organisations like Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, NICMAR Pune, Assam Engineering College Guwahati, IIT Guwahati, Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI), Delhi etc.
To strengthen the technical knowledge of the front line field staff of the department a Sectional Assistant Training Centre was set up in the year 2003. A 1(one) year training is imparted on eight subjects to enhance the human resources potentials of sectional assistants. Till date more than 250 trainees from Water Resources and Irrigation Department has completed the courses in 9(nine) batches.
